If you’re hip to the Arizona foodie scene, then you know Restaurant Week kicks off tomorrow. Maybe this means you’ve got your prix fixe meals already picked out; or perhaps you’re groaning because your fave spot is about to be overtaken by folks taking pictures of their plate.
If you’re looking for an escape from the same ol’ same from AZ Restaurant Week, then celebrate the season with House of Tricks in Tempe. Owners Robert and Robin Trick, and staff, are toasting 31 delicious years in business this month by treating their patrons to a special three-course tasting menu ($31) and wine flights ($31) for their first ever Fall Showcase Week.
Holding true to HOT’s roots, the Fall Showcase Week menu incorporates the freshest ingredients sourced from local producers hand-picked by the chefs. As someone who wants to try a bite, or three, of everything on the menu – and as someone who suffers from serious food FOMO when it comes to ordering – I love tasting menus that highlight the best dishes from start to finish. I’m already thinking about which two friends are the most generous food-sharers to accompany me so I can sample it all. Or maybe, this is simply an excellent excuse to visit one of my favorite restaurants three-times in one week.. I told you, the food FOMO is real.
Reduce ordering anxiety by scoping the menu here, before you go. Secure one of the coveted spots on the patio and under the stars by making a reservation in advance. The lush greenery and scerene setting is what makes this one of my favorite spots. That, the amazing food and a magnum of wine, of course.
