And just like we’re counting down the days to the holidays…The weather couldn’t be more perfect and there are a million ways to make the most to it. From day drinking at my favorite roof top bars, to food fests and live music – the members of the LL No Agenda Social Club are living our best lives this season.

With a calendar chock full of local happenings, there is nothing like the annual Fantasy of Lights Parade to get you in the spirit. Scheduled for Friday, November 24, and presented by Wells Fargo, this is one event that is definitely not to be missed. For the past 20 years this parade has transformed Downtown Tempe into a sparkling wonderland – drawing the community together with floats, marching bands, holiday lights and live music.

Since the parade kicks off at 6pm, we like to get there a little early to beat the crowds, catch a buzz and grab some grub. The parade ends with a tree lighting ceremony at Centerpoint Plaza, and is arguably my favorite part of the night. Get a selfie with Santa if you still need the perfect picture for this year’s Christmas post.

Another cool thing Downtown Tempe has done, is partnered with United Food Bank. This year, parade attendees are encouraged to donate a jar of peanut butter to help local families in need.

This is just the first of many holiday celebrations in Downtown Tempe. Soon I’ll be posting more deets on holiday shopping at Fall Festival of the Arts and 6th Street Market, and pro tips for viewing the Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade at Tempe Town Lake in December as well.

Local Lily has been a proud supporter of Downtown Tempe since 2010, and are honored to continue our relationship as a paid partner in 2017.
