This weekend Downtown Tempe welcomes back the annual Spring Festival of the Arts for its 40th year. Personally, I’m due for a day of sunshine, live music, street entertainers and shopping artist booths from all over. I’m told this year there will be over 300 artists filling Mill Ave! In addition to new finds, I hope to stock up on a few of my local favorites at the 6th + Mill Maker area like candles from Standard Wax and bar essential mixers from Iconic Cocktail.
The weather should pretty damn perfect for poppin’ downtown for patios drinking, which let’s face it, is why Mill will always have a special place in my heart. I plan to start my TFA day at Pedal Haus with Bloody Marys and a bite to fuel my fun.
Before my buzz wears off from my boozy brunch I’ll be making my way to one of the three beer and wine gardens in the festival. Four Peaks, Pedal Haus and Gordon Borsch will be pouring along side Arizona wines. I’ve already snagged my tasting tickets, and plan purchasing a few bottles to take home.
I’ll be posting photos of my weekend at TFA, but I’d love to see what you’re up too! Use #XOLL on your photos to share your good time and give me a follow at @locallily so we can swap stories on Facebook and Instagram.
Keep the good feelings going and pop a dollar donation in one of the Mission Meters on Mill Ave for Tempe Mission . They’re trying to raise $100,000 by June for five social service agencies that aid those in need in Downtown Tempe.
