The FALLiday Guide is full of inspired ideas to Eat, Shop and Experience the best of local Arizona this holiday season. This morning, Local Lily was invited to share a few of our favorite inspired activities for out-of-town guests in a live segment on 3TV. A BIG thank you to everyone at the studio for a warm welcome, as always.  Just in case you won’t be able to catch it live… here are a few highlights from our pick list.

Downtown / Old Town Scottsdale Enjoy lunch or even better brunch at local favorite, the HerbBox in Southbridge.  Walk off your meal with a stroll around downtown and shopping locally owned boutiques like Garage boutique for kids, Nestldown Linens, Jewelry by Gauthier and Scottsdale Pen. Have some kiddos along for the day? Let them run amuk in the sprawling park at the Civic Center Mall  followed by an old fashioned ice cream treat at Scottsdale historic Sugar Bowl restaurant.

Taliesin West is a national treasure developed by Frank Lloyd Wright located in north Scottsdale. This is recommended for adults interested in art and architecture. Children are welcome, but may bore easily. Tours options include Night Lights which allows you to see the property all lit up, a Desert Walking tour of the greater grounds and the most popular Insights tour which takes you through Wright’s personal living and working spaces.

Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) Celebrates the similarities and differences of the world’s cultures as expressed through music, which is common to us all. Interactive exhibits for all ages are experienced through headphones to save your hearing (and sanity).

Take a trip out to locally famous San Tan Flat in Queen Creek, and you’ll find that it’s well worth the drive. Best known for being a family friendly spot, where you can eat under  the stars and relax around your very own camp fire. Fill up on hearty cowboy chow, like steaks, burgers and my favorite the Rancher Tenderloin Tips, and then roast marshmallows or make some s’mores right at your table. Find live local country music at the dance floor most Friday and Saturday nights.

Looking to see a grand display of holiday lights? The Mesa Arizona Temple Gardens, Christmas Lights and Concert Series is FREE through December 31 at 525 East Main Street.  See a spectacular display of hundreds of thousands of lights at a family friendly, community event that serves as a reminder of peace and goodwill.
